"Painting
and sketching have been my passion and my refuge for
most of my life. On the tactile level, there's the
physical pleasure in squishing paint on a canvas or
moving a pencil or pen across paper, especially if
it means actually working out in the countryside. More
than that, I feel a need to represent life's beauties – nature,
the human form and the human spirit confronting good
and bad.
"My love of the arts was awakened early in life.
As a child, my family's home was filled with
art and music, and I studied violin and the arts in
private and group classes. During my professional career
as a journalist, corporate executive and marketing
consultant, I always found time to continue my studies
of painting and to sketch and paint the Normandy countryside
in France."
